All of this was in preparation for a big moment in my life: graduating from university!
The style of it is a bit different than the typical dish, but I liked this version of it a lot! I'm a sucker for huge chunks of onions and burnt tops <3 br=""></3>

My friend used to work as a tour guide, so he took me on a tour of landmarks around Tsim Sha Tsui!

The next following pictures were from an area dedicated to the most popular comics and cartoon characters from Hong Kong:
Where we were standing was where the original Tsim Sha Tsui station was. The only thing they kept from the old station is this clock tower.

This is a important place from ParaPara history in Hong Kong! Back during the 3rd boom in 2001, the ParaPara Allstars came to Hong Kong to film television appearances because ParaPara was very popular here at the time. In this spot they held a ParaPara competition judged by the PPA where the winners earned a spot in the finals held in Tokyo.
The next few pictures are from the Avenue of the Stars, which is Hong Kong's version of the Hollywood Walk of Fame.
This is supposed to be a very famous hotel where celebrities stay at. Ayumi Hamasaki stayed here when she came to Hong Kong.

A lot of tourists came to the area, despite the weather not being so great.

A big statue of Bruce Lee, of course!

While we were walking around, we passed by the Charlie Brown Cafe. It's a Peanuts-themed restaurant, similar to Knott's Berry Farm close to where I live!

The front of the restaurant, but you have to walk inside to get into the actual restaurant.

Display of Peanuts-themed sweets and cakes. So cute!

Afterwards he took me to one of the local arcades, because he knew I wanted to play Dance Evolution Arcade! It's the same as Dance Masters in the US, but in an arcade machine.

It was fun playing together, of course we didn't get any pictures of that since it was only us.

I had to get a picture of this lady! She was trying all of the music games and was hilarious. She really played DDR like how she is standing, with one arm up while still holding onto her purse.

The arcade was inside a mall, so I walked around after he had to go off somewhere else.

Makeup is everywhere in Hong Kong. This is my dream place! *_*

I don't remember what store this was, but the display is adorable. It made me really miss my dog!
For whatever reason, crocs are really popular here in Hong Kong! So much so they used it in a government sign. Throw them all in a fire!!D~tanhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/08288223248443546527noreply@blogger.com4tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5793254151676262702.post-198509778689523782013-03-20T18:05:00.002-07:002013-03-20T18:05:17.881-07:00Festival Walk, Kowloon TongI wanted to make a post about the mall that's walking distance from my apartment: Festival Walk! It's a major mall featuring many Western stores and a large food court. It's also across the street from a university, so you'll see a lot of overseas students shopping and eating there. My favorite part of being here in Hong Kong is that you can speak English almost everywhere you go!
I love that here in Hong Kong they have storefronts for the luxury makeup brands. It's nice to be able to go to a specific store instead of just the counters.

Watsons is a drugstore I've read about in blogs of Asian bloggers, so I was happy to finally get to one LOL Half of the store is just beauty alone *_*

The section for L'Oreal makeup. They have a lot of similar products we have in the US, except they have different names. They've also got some more products we don't have, mainly base makeup.

The other beauty brands there: Maybelline, Majolica Majorca, Revlon, Max Factor, and KATE.

They have Dove deodorant here, my favorite brand! The roll-ons with the same scents as my favorite sticks are actually cheaper here than in the US. I was curious about the whitening one since the US version of it didn't work for me. We'll see how it works in the next few weeks!

I feel so business-y having to carry two ones with me! I am using my BlackBerry from home and got this Nokia for local calls.

Now for the get's that I got! I went to another area today for some shopping, but I'll talk about it in a different post. I'm buying small since I'm here for an entire month, however you also have to pay extra for plastic bags at supermarkets and some other stores ...

The bags you see are from MAC, moussy, and MURUA (they share the same bags as EMODA).

I got Jewerich No. 2 from Sasa, MAC Mineralize Rich Lipsticks in Ultraprecious, Red Coquette, and Smart & Sweet (Asia exclusive shades), Dove Whitening Deodorant and a Pore minimizing powder from Majolica Majorca at Watsons.

The tank top is from moussy and the shirt is from MURUA. HEAVEN and Earth had the most beautiful cutsew I've seen, but I wasn't willing to pay US$125 for it D:

Hope you guys enjoyed seeing a little bit into my life here in Hong Kong. There will definitely be more posts to come :DD~tanhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/08288223248443546527noreply@blogger.com8tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5793254151676262702.post-17042202235149782562013-03-19T18:10:00.003-07:002013-03-19T18:10:35.289-07:00My apartment in Hong KongHey everyone! I made it safe to Hong Kong a few days ago, and have just finished unpacking all of my belongings and have gotten settled in. I'm staying in the Kowloon Tong area of Hong Kong and live within a 5-10 minute walk from Festival Walk. I haven't explored too much with public transportation yet, but will very soon so expect some more updates regarding shopping and such in the future. For this post I'd like to show you guys the apartment I'm staying in while I'm here.

The kitchenette with some basics like a microwave, eletric kettle, and small stove top. I've got some food in the pantry including some fruits, granola bars, cereal, tea and crackers.

This is supposed to be my living area and dining table, but because of cramped space I am using this as my area to apply makeup. It will stay messy probably for the rest of the trip since I need to do my makeup!
Front of my bed and my shoes! The shoes are all from Yumetenbo or Galstar. I bought insole inserts prior to the trip to make the shoes a bit more comfortable when I walk.
Sorry for being MIA for the past month. After I got back from my trip in NYC I became really ill and only just recovering from it. I had a really violent flu and sinus infection.

As some of you know, I will be leaving to stay in Hong Kong for a month and then I will be in Japan for 10 days. I am leaving this Sunday! I have heard Blogger has some restrictions in HK/China, so there is a chance I won't be able to blog while I am abroad. I will of course use my Tumblr while I am away in the case I don't have time for longer blog posts, so please follow me there if you want to see quick glimpses into what I'm up to!

Anyone that's interested in my custom Diamond Lash packs, please inquire and pay for them by this Friday, 3/15, in order to guarantee you will have your lashes before I leave!

For those that have been to Hong Kong, please recommend some places for me to check out! I got some recommendations from Rin already, but if anyone else knows any gyaru specific clothing/shoes and beauty stores... let me know! :)D~tanhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/08288223248443546527noreply@blogger.com2tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5793254151676262702.post-64739953392078513552013-02-15T15:33:00.002-08:002013-02-15T15:33:37.171-08:00Valentine's DayI hope everyone had a wonderful Valentine's Day (or Singles Awareness Day if you're single). I had a wonderful time, and also just found out very good news. My internship in Hong Kong was accepted, so I will be leaving for Hong Kong in a few weeks and stay for a month. I will also be heading to NYC next weekend to hang out with my friends as well, so I have some busy times ahead!

In the day time I had an appointment to go shopping for OBEY Clothing's Spring '13 line at their warehouse. It has its perk being a former intern at times ;) At night, Tony and I had dinner reservations (of course) and decided to eat at The Globe in Garden Grove. It's a Belgian restaurant that has a regular menu and a monthly menu depending on what country they want to create a special menu on.

I'm very happy with the way my look turned out overall! I just wanted some natural looking waves for my hair, and I think I succeeded with that.

FOTD (I wore this all day):
Drinks and appetizers! I saw that The Globe had a cocktail featuring Creme de Cassis, so I asked them if they could make me a Cassis Orange. They obliged, and brought the glass of orange juice and cassis separately because they never heard of this cocktail before. I told them it's a really popular combination in Japan! Tony got a Belgian beer. For appetizers we got a large Bavarian pretzel and Belgian frites. Very authentic and delicious!

Our entrees took awhile to get to us after appetizer, but it was actually better that it did because it gave us enough time to digest our appetizers to make room for our entrees.

Tony got the Herb Stuffed Chicken. It was very Mediterranean in flavor.

I got the Short Ribs. The food was good overall but I think what really sent everything over the edge was the potatoes gratin! I can die happy knowing I ate something so delicious.

For dessert we got the Belgian waffle. It was very authentic and tasted much better than any other "Belgian waffle" you can get anywhere else. The recipe is from the owner's Belgian grandmother.

Since it was Valentine's day, they were giving out free shots of alcohol (I believe it was bourbon?) to couples at the end of the meal. We got the honey tea flavor and it was really delicious, although Tony didn't like it too much!

If anyone is in that area and has some money to spare (It's about $15-20 per entree), I would definitely recommend this restaurant. Very cozy and wonderful service. D~tanhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/08288223248443546527noreply@blogger.com14tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5793254151676262702.post-35131629887290714042013-02-11T13:25:00.001-08:002013-02-11T13:25:18.857-08:00Circle lens review: EOS New Adult BrownI made an order recently with Eyecandys.com for some more "natural"-esque everyday lenses, since I have an opportunity to do an internship in Hong Kong very soon. I'm finding out this week whether I'm going or not, so I'm crossing my fingers!

These are very natural with a diameter of 14.00mm, so these are good for everyday wear. I love that the color is more on the golden side, so it still gives it an edge.

Here's an image where you can compare the lens in one eye, in both eyes without makeup and both eyes with makeup.

As you can see, the enlargement is pretty good for a lens that is 14.00mm! I think the outer ring definitely helps it out a lot in that regard. I love that the color is so unique.

I decided to do my makeup Happie nuts styled, since I feel these lenses deserved a more "mature" look:

Review:
Pros:
- Extremely comfortable lenses that don't require eye drops.
- Very wearable design for everyday use that's anything but boring! The brown color is very unique.
- Good clarity in vision.

Cons:
- Absolutely no complaints.

Overall:
These are comfortable lenses that are good for everyday wear, but still have an edge to them. I wore these for 8+ hours without any complaints, and could go longer if needed. I love that the color is so unique yet very wearable. These lenses would be good to wear in situations where you need your lenses and makeup to be more subtle, or to go for a more mature look. This type of lens would definitely go great with an onee, or mode gyaru style.
I decided to get one that was particularly golden blonde in color to play better with my skin tone since I'm warm toned. So did it work out for me?
I'm still kind of in shock to see me like this, but actually I've gotten a lot of positive feedback so far on it. I've been brunette for so long I don't think I could've seen myself in any other color LOL But the more I see it the more I like it. Not sure if I want to make a permanent change into that color though.D~tanhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/08288223248443546527noreply@blogger.com20tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5793254151676262702.post-18677945755689235772013-01-30T10:00:00.000-08:002013-01-30T10:00:05.781-08:00Important information regarding Diamond Lash Custom PacksHello everyone!

I know a fair amount of my visitors come inquiring about my Diamond Lash Custom Packs, so I would like to announce some important things.
First off, from 2/1/13-2/18/13, anyone who orders 5 or more pairs of Diamond Lash will be eligible for a 10% discount! So definitely plan to order some while supplies last.

Secondly, this part is pretty much bad news overall. The US Postal System raised prices dramatically for my overseas customers, so prices have gone from $4 shipping to $7 for 1-2 packs and $10 for 3-5 packs. This is so unfortunate because I know I have many overseas customers! US Customers aren't too negatively impacted, but for those who order more than 2 packs will see an increase in each additional pack from .50 cents to $1.D~tanhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/08288223248443546527noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5793254151676262702.post-56102045851715637252013-01-23T10:00:00.000-08:002013-01-23T10:00:05.293-08:00Review + Swatches: Lime Crime Opaque LipsticksThis post was requested by Lolo! Since there are a lot of mixed reviews for Lime Crime, I'll definitely post an honest review along with lip swatches for the lipsticks I own from them.

I own these four shades: Coquette, Countess Flourescent, Retrofuturist, and Glamour 101 (my newest addition).

Lip swatches and individual reviews for each shade (since the finishes are different):

Coquette is a peach-based nude color. This applies very easily and isn't too drying. The color is very pigmented, but can be buildable for those who want a more pale look or those who want a more natural look. I think because this nude is buildable, it can definitely suit many different skin tones. Very versatile and would look lovely paired with a tinted lipgloss!

Countessa Flourescent is a cool based neon pink color. It shows up pretty glossy on the official Lime Crime website swatch, but this actually applied quite matte on myself. This is incredibly pigmented, but so much so that it's kind of hard to apply from the tube. This formula is very drying, but leaves a stain and wears for a very long time.

Retrofuturist is a bright red color, I'd like to call this a "Snow White red". I love how it looks on the lips, a bit glossy but with a good punch of color! This is another incredibly drying formula, which makes it hard to apply and can be very bad on lips without proper preparation (exfoliation and lip balm). This is very pigmented and leaves a stain. When I wore this on Christmas it lasted for over 10 HOURS on my lips without reapplying, but left the condition of my lips as a hot mess.

Glamour 101 is a brownish red color. It's darker than Retrofuturist and not as bright. This goes on as easily and has the same amount of moisture as Coquette, with their formulas being pretty similar. This isn't as drying and leaves a stain.

Overall these lipsticks come in unique colors with a yummy cinnamon/vanilla scent with the wear time on them being insane compared to other makeup brands! However, the downside is that these lipsticks tend to be incredibly drying due to the amount of pigment in the lipsticks. You will definitely need to exfoliate your lips and apply lip balm before wearing any of these shades, even the ones that are less drying (Coquette and Glamour 101). I definitely also recommend having a lip brush handy when using any of these, as they might get streaky around the edges of the lips.

So would I recommend them? Yes and no. These lipsticks definitely require a lot of patience and prep to use them. The payoff however is lasting color that doesn't need reapplying for hours on end.

It's the cheapest one they have, and actually I'm in love with it!

This bottle comes with the same clasp that prevents from accidental spilling as the FANCL Mild Cleansing Oil. This makes it great for traveling!

The English label for it was on the plastic wrapping, but I decided to keep it and stuck it on the bottle!

Here's the ingredients list since I know people want to know:
Ingredients: Mineral Oil, PEG-20 Glyceryl Triisostearate,
Octyldodecanol, Sorbeth-30 Tetraoleate, Cetyl Ethylhexanoate,
Polysorbate 20, Triethylhexanoin, Water, Sorbitan Sesquioleate,
1,2-Hexanediol, Alcohol Denate., Hydrogenated Lecithin, Cholesterol,
Ceramide 3, Dimethicone, Tocopheryl Acetate, Sodium PCA, Betaine,
Sorbitol, Glycine, Alanine, Proline, Serine, Threonine, Arginine Lysine,
Glutamicacid, Disodium EDTA, Sucrose, Fragrance, FD&C Yellow No. 5
(CI 19140), D&C Red No. 33 (CI 17200), FD&C Blue No. 1 (CI
42090)

Although I was a little concerned once I saw mineral oil and cholesterol on the label, I still went ahead and used it!

The consistency is a bit on the thin/runnier side. It's not quite as thin as MAC or Shu Uemura, but is definitely a bit thinner than FANCL. The scent is amazing; it's a mix of lemon and sugar. Very fresh!

As you can see from the before and after, it cleansed very well and even got my waterproof makeup off!

Review:
Pros:
- Cleansed my face very well and got all of my waterproof makeup off.
- Very pleasant scent that is very fresh!
- Seems suitable for all skin types.
- Doesn't dry out the skin, so it'll be comfortable enough not to double wash with cleanser after using this.
- Affordable price for the quality and amount given.
- Wide availability online with good prices.

Cons:
- Some questionable ingredients for people with sensitive skin concerns.
- The scent might be off putting for those who prefer unscented products.

Overall:
This is my favorite cleansing oil at the moment! The price is good and is easily available online through eBay and Korean cosmetics stores. It cleansed my makeup well and my skin felt very soft after using it. Like most SKINFOOD products, this product smells amazing and feels very fresh.

Recommended? Yes, and this is HG status!
I got my ticket a month in advance, but didn't have quite as pleasant of a time as last years event. I felt that too many people were let in and because they switched the dates there were many vendors that usually attend but didn't, like NYX Cosmetics. I shouldn't complain too much though, because I got there early enough to get to almost all of the vendors I wanted to buy from and got out of there within 3 hours!
Crazy mobs, I think they were in line for Sigma Brushes? You can see Obsessive Compulsive Cosmetics and Sugarpill in this photo. I wanted to go to OCC really bad for some Lip Tars, but the line was obnoxiously long for their small booth! At the last IMATS I went to, I just walked up to the booth and got the Lip Tars I wanted. I think due to them being sold at Sephora now is why there were so many people.
I got to meet Michelle Visage, who's a singer and a judge on RuPaul's Drag Race! She was incredibly sweet and super fierce in person. Her daughter was a big fan of Pokemon so we talked briefly about it as well. Her family is so cute!
Here's a photo of my travel brushes from bdellium tools! I got tired of lugging all of my full sized MAC brushes with me whenever I went out of town, so I wanted to get a travel set. I decided on bdellium tools because I love their brush styles and the quality is amazing for the price. I spent under $80 for all of them.D~tanhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/08288223248443546527noreply@blogger.com10tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5793254151676262702.post-18968825866365335652013-01-17T01:54:00.002-08:002013-01-17T01:54:58.165-08:00Review + Tutorial: SKINFOOD Peach Sake Pore BB Cream in #5 Honey BeigeI should be very fortunate that SKINFOOD's US office is located where I live, because we also have a retail store and some special things not available in other stores. One of their most famous products is their Peach Sake BB Cream that is originally offered in only 2 shades, but in-store they have 5 or 6 shades that range from very light to dark toned skin! I bought it immediately when I saw the extended shade range and picked up my perfect shade, #5 Honey Beige. So what do I think of this Korean BB Cream?

I took a picture of the back of the bottle, so you can see everything is in English! I know people often want to know the ingredients list, which you can see clearly as well.

My first impression is that I LOVE THE SCENT! It smells like Japanese white peaches, which reminds me of my childhood. As a child my father used to work in Tokyo and I would stay with him whenever I wasn't in school. My brother and I were very spoiled and our parents bought us Japanese white peaches everyday, and I didn't find out how expensive they were until I was in high school! It gave me more respect for my parents...
Well that was a long off-topic story! Here's swatches of the BB Cream blended and unblended.

You can barely see the BB cream when it's not blended, which is a good thing!

Here is my FOTD freshly applied. You can learn how to do this look at the end of the post ;D

It provides a nice medium coverage that covers up most of my imperfections, but I had to use an additional concealer to get rid of some of my redness and dark spots. I used 2 pumps of the BB Cream applied all over my face.

Here is my FOTD again after 10 hours of wear. I did not touch up my makeup at all during this time and did not blot my nose!

You can see that my t-zone is slightly shiny, but that's to be expected after 10 hours! I think it still looks almost the exact same as when I first applied it.

Review:
Pros:
- A nice Korean BB Cream available locally for me.
- Provides medium coverage while skin remains natural looking.
- HEAVENLY SCENTED, if you love peaches you'll love this!
- Available in a wide variety of shades, up to par or more than what is available from Missha and other Korean brands.
- As typical of Korean brands, lots of free samples and goodies when you purchase from their official stores!

Cons:
- Very thick texture. I know BB Creams typically are supposed to be thick in texture, but this is the thickest of all of the ones I've tried so far.
- Coverage isn't too buildable. I love full coverage and can't get it there.
- Availability of the additional shades is limited to SKINFOOD's US locations... which I think there is only one or two of them?
- Additional shades are not available online, and SKINFOOD's Official site doesn't have information for them.

Overall:
Wonderful BB Cream that covers while looking incredibly natural. This shade suits me very well and very happy that SKINFOOD is expanding their shade range. This is probably the best smelling face product I've ever used, and makes me happy whenever I wear it! I would definitely recommend this for people who need coverage for mild redness and large pores and need something that isn't too heavy. What I would love to see in the future is the wider availability of the expanded shade range so that more people can enjoy it!

Recommended? Yes! ABSOLUTELY YES!!

Where to buy?
Entire shade range can only be found in SKINFOOD's US Store Locations, $20
Original shades can be found easily online, ranging from $8-20.

Here's the tutorial for my FOTD as well. It's very detailed from start to finish and is very close to my everyday makeup routine, so I hope you all enjoy it and learn something from it! This makeup isn't too heavy so it's a good everyday gyaru makeup routine.
I currently have a rotation of 5 different cleansing oils right now at all different price points, so I will definitely do a review of all of them.

When I spotted FANCL's Mild Cleansing Oil at the checkout counter at my local Mitsuwa Marketplace, I decided to buy it!

The ingredients list is in English on the label, along with the manufacturing date on the box. The freshness date is within 1 year of manufacturing or 120 days after opening the bottle.

Since I know people are curious about the ingredients in English, I re-typed them:
Ingredients: Cetyl Ethylhexanoate, Butylene Glycol Diisononanoate, Polyglyceryl-10 Diisostearate, Diphenylsiloxy Phenyl Trimethicone, Polyglycerl-20 Octaisononanoate, Polyglyceryl-20 Hexacaprylate, Limnanthes Alba (Meadowfoam) Seed Oil, Glyceryl Behenate/Eicosadioate, Camellia Sinensis Leaf Powder, Caprylic/Caprictriglyceride, Rosa Canina Fruit Oil, Ascorbyl Dipalmitate, Phytosteryl/Isostearyl/Cetyl/Stearyl/Behenyl Dimer Dilinoleate, Tocopherol, Stearoyl Inulin

What I like is that there's a little thing that prevents from spilling of the oil. This makes it good for traveling!

The scent is fairly faint, but feels very fresh. The consistency is a little bit thick like a gel, but not as thick as DHC Mild Touch Cleansing Oil.

Instead of using 3 pumps of this oil, I only used 2 pumps. I rubbed it on a dry face, after a minute I put some water on my hands to emulsify the oil, and rinsed it off after another minute.

Pros:
- Cleansed my face very well, got all of my waterproof and stubborn makeup off my face, including eyelash glue!
- Mild scent and feels fresh.
- Good for all types of skin.
- Doesn't dry out the skin, so your skin will be comfortable even without a second wash wish soap.

Cons:
- Bottle isn't quite full when purchased.
- A bit pricey for the amount given.
- Short shelf-life after opening the bottle.

Overall:
Although it is double the price of DHC's Mild Touch Cleansing Oil, it is definitely better than it and worth the purchase. It gets EVERYTHING off (which DHC's didn't), makes your face feel fresh, and the scent isn't bothersome. You can definitely get away with only using this to wash your face and your skin will still be clean and smooth. The only cons I can think of is that it's pricey, the bottle wasn't full when I purchased it, and the short shelf-life. I'm sure it'll be possible to use the entire bottle in less than 120 days, but it's still something to consider if you don't use cleansing oils too often.

Recommended? Yes!

Where to buy? You can purchase directly from FANCL's official store for $26. I purchased mine for $26 at Mitsuwa Marketplace in Costa Mesa, CA, and it can be purchased at some of your local Asian markets or online from eBay from $20+.D~tanhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/08288223248443546527noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5793254151676262702.post-32289742630560854372013-01-13T17:03:00.001-08:002013-01-13T17:03:26.585-08:00Makeup tutorial featuring Smashbox x Curtis Kulig's Love Me Eyeshadow Palette in Entice MeI'm finally back on the internet! It has been a painful half week without internet, but I have been productive in household chores so I guess it wasn't too terrible. While I was gone from the internet I decided to make a makeup tutorial featuring one of the new Smashbox x Curtis Kulig Spring 2013 Love Me Eyeshadow palettes in Entice Me!

I originally fell in love with Curtis Kulig's Love Me print after interning at OBEY Clothing and getting to work with their Spring 2012 Love Me collection. So I was very excited when Smashbox announced their partnership with him!

How gorgeous is the packaging? I want the rest of the collection but might wait until IMATS Los Angeles to see if the Smashbox @ Naimies booth will have it :) The tutorial is after the jump!
The eyeshadows in general were on the sheer side, but buildable and very easy to blend with each other. I'm glad that even with some bolder colors it was possible to make them more neutral looking! I had fun making this tutorial and would love to do more in the future. If you guys have any requests, please let me know.D~tanhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/08288223248443546527noreply@blogger.com2tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5793254151676262702.post-48138922256117404192013-01-05T11:30:00.000-08:002013-01-05T11:30:00.082-08:002012 Makeup + New Years Resolutions for 2013I did this last year, and I wanted to do it again so everyone can see the transformation I have made over the past year and compare it to 2011!

I think my favorite look out of the bunch would probably be June and December's looks! I really got into wearing more bold lips over the past year (which ironically isn't shown in these photos), but I think my technique has improved a lot. After my surgery happened in June, I focused more on making myself presentable everyday. Circle lenses were definitely a must, as my surgery left me with getting headaches whenever I wore my glasses. With the weight that I lost as well, I needed to improve myself!
On another tangent, I noticed I really only wore a few different pair of lashes despite having a huge hoard of lashes!
My favorites (I have worn all of these at least 20 times throughout 2012):
- Top: Jewerich No. 1 & 2, Diamond Lash Glamorous eye, Eyemazing No. 005, custom lash of Jewerich No. 2 + Diamond Lash Cats eye
- Bottom: Jewerich No. 3, Decorative Eyelash PLAYGIRL Play Sexy #5

Let's compare that to 2011!

I think the biggest difference you can see between 2011 and 2012 is that my face is less round, contributed by the weight that I had lost over the past year.

New Years Resolutions for 2013:
- Get my projects approved so that I can work! I am doing one through school and currently in the process of obtaining another in Hong Kong.
- Traveling as much as I can before I start a real job.
- Get a real job in my career field.
- Use up my makeup so I can buy more! Another note with that, I need to reorganize my collection again.
- Keep the weight off and lose the additional weight I gained over the past semester.
- Plan my meals better (like I did pre and post surgery) so that my diet will be better again.
- Go to the gym!
- Write more blog entries that will be relevant to my personal interests along with my blog readers :)

Hope everyone is having a great 2013 so far, and good luck everyone!D~tanhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/08288223248443546527noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5793254151676262702.post-45146827022229745422013-01-03T16:55:00.002-08:002013-01-03T16:55:30.363-08:00New Years in Las VegasHappy belated New Years 2013 to everyone! I've been sick since returning from my trip but I would love to share some photos with my readers.

I usually go to Vegas every year for New Years, since my mom plays at casinos and we always stay for free. This trip was more special because Alex, one of my dearest friends from Canada, came to visit! Since it was his first time there, we spent a lot of time on the Las Vegas Strip since he's a tourist.

There aren't too many pictures, since we spent a lot of the time drinking and not being sober! Even if I did have photos during that time I wouldn't want to show anyone unless it was really funny.

One of the nights we decided to take Alex to a Las Vegas buffet. We originally wanted to go to Rio, but we weren't sober enough to drive there so we walked across the street to Paris's Le Village Buffet.

I went to my local Tokyo Lifestyle store and saw that they had this set available for an affordable $24.99, considering that these products usually retail for about $15-18 separately! With a 10% coupon in hand, I got this set for around $24.23 since it took out most of the tax and a little more :)

Included in this review I have a swatch comparison between this and other Japanese liquid eyeliners!

Here's the liners I'll be comparing with:

- Creer Beaute La Rose de Versailles Liquid Eyeliner
- K-Palette Real Lasting Eyeliner 24H
- MSH Love Liner
- Dolly Wink Liquid Eyeliner
- Momoeri Long Beam Liquid Eyeliner

Comparison of the brush tips:

As you can see, they are all sort of similar but still have a few differences. I'd like to say that the Creer Beaute liner is most similar in brush tip to Dolly Wink or Momoeri.

Swatch comparison (each liner was swiped twice):

As you can see, this is where you can really see the differences! Creer Beaute's is the lightest color of black and has the finest line, swatching the most similarly to K-Palette. Dolly Wink and Momoeri are both incredibly similar in terms of color, wear, and swatch. MSH is the darkest and thickest out of all of them, and is also my personal favorite out of the bunch although I prefer the wear time of Momoeri's slightly more. All of these are waterproof and wash off easily when you scrub them off in hot water.

Here's my eye wearing both the Liquid Eyeliner and Mascara:

Mascara is incredibly hard for me to find, and this one worked fairly well on my pin-straight lashes. It's not HG status (that would go to Youngblood or Maybelline Asia's Volum' Express Hypercurl) but it keeps my curl and separates very well. It actually looks like I have lashes! The liner was buildable in color and wore wonderfully even after I took off my false eyelashes. There were no patches without liner, but the color faded a bit at the end of the day. This liner might need reapplying if you are into more dramatic eyeliner!

Overall:
I would recommend this set to people who want a good introduction into Japanese eye cosmetics! Both the liner and mascara are really easy to use, so beginners will find this set to be exceptionally great.
Since the black color of the eyeliner isn't too dramatic, I would recommend this to people who wear a sweeter style of makeup. Those who are looking for a dramatic look, I would recommend MSH Love Liner instead.
The mascara would be really good for people with pin-straight eyelashes that have a hard time looking for a mascara that actually works! It's great for people who want a clump-free mascara that gives a naturally defined look to your lashes, or for those who want a good mascara to use to blend their natural lashes with their false eyelashes.
The price and value is hard to beat, as it retails for 1680yen (approximately $21) for both products. Definitely worth a purchase if you're on the market for both of these products!

As for places that sell them, I haven't been able to find a place that sells them online. eBay might be your best bet online wise, or you can possibly find them at your local Asian beauty store.D~tanhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/08288223248443546527noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5793254151676262702.post-4647894911867693482012-12-21T15:01:00.001-08:002012-12-21T15:01:28.696-08:00Jonas Brothers Concert at the Pantages Theatre 11/29If you've read my blog since I started, you might know that I'm a big fan of the Jonas Brothers! They got back together this year to do some shows here and there, so my best friend and I went together to their last show in LA for the year. If this were a few years back I would've attended all three of the shows, but alas school had priority since this was my last full semester at school.

I didn't have time to do anything special so I just wore the makeup that I wore to school!

There was a lot of traffic so it took about 2 hours to get up to Hollywood! We were starving so we went to Fuku Burger (one of my favorite LA restaurants) and shared the special of the day: Pizza Burger! It was a burger with a meatball patty, spicy tomato sauce, basil and mozzarella cheese and included an order of fries (regular Fuku Burgers don't come with them). We also got an order of onion rings and despite Fuku Burger being fairly pricey, we were able to eat a fulfilling dinner for $10 a person!
Typically latex-based eyelash glues can get very messy and hard for beginners to use since it's hard to get the right amount of glue on without making a mess! Japanese eyelash glues such as DUP Eyelashes Fixer EX, Eyemazing Super Fit or Diamond Lash Eyelash Fixer are definitely the best option for anyone to use since they are long wearing and easy to use. However, they can be costly at around $10-15 a tube and get really thick and hard to use after use for awhile (you can see an example here).

What is a good medium between being easy to use, won't get thick within months and is affordable? Duo Strip On Eyelash Adhesive!

I wanted to directly compare DUO Brush On with DUP Eyelashes Fixer EX:

As you can see, the bottles and brushes are incredibly similar!

However, the difference between these lies in the formula:

As you can see, DUP's glue applies very thick while DUO's is thinner but wet in consistency. DUP's formula is purposely this way because it allows for the glue to be quick drying and allows for almost immediate application. DUO's is more wet which allows it not to get thick in consistency in the future, but it requires a bit of a wait to dry before application. Both of these apply clear, so no worries about whether the glue will show!

Other than the consistency and time for the glues to dry, these glues aren't different. They are both very easy to use and are latex-free, meaning that those with sensitive eyes or allergies won't find themselves having reactions to the glue. I am personally choosing the DUO glue, because it is much more affordable and readily available for me.

I purchased my DUO glue at Bed Bath & Beyond (only at locations with a cosmetics section, or Harmons if you're on the East coast) for $4.29. You can find these at select drugstores, beauty supply stores (like Sally's) or online stores (such as Madame Madeline) from around $4-7 a tube.

DUP's Eyelashes Fixer EX is available in my area locally for $13, but if you think about it I can purchase 3 tubes of the DUO glue for the same price as one tube of DUP! With those extra tubes you can either gift them to friends or put them everywhere in case of "shemergencies".D~tanhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/08288223248443546527noreply@blogger.com6tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5793254151676262702.post-44487525167592660432012-12-19T13:59:00.000-08:002012-12-19T13:59:07.573-08:00A few OOTD from the past few weeksHey everyone! Sorry for being MIA the past few weeks, I've had finals that I had to concentrate on. I can also officially say that I have finished taking tests for the rest of my undergrad career, and next semester all I will be doing is a consulting project! It's kinda weird that school has pretty much officially ended for me, but at the same time it's exciting to find out what will be out there for me.

Anyways, here's a few OOTD shots :)
and here's a really fuzzy LOTD that for 12/14, I had to do my makeup quickly because I was turning in my official graduation forms before the office closed for winter break! I made it luckily :D Also the BB Cream I wore was $4 from Daiso, so it goes to show that you can work with really cheap cosmetics if you pair it well.
Finals are coming up very shortly so I will be busy for the most part. I wanted to blog about the RuPaul's All Stars Drag Race Finale Party that I went to on Monday (11/26).

This was my first time at Micky's, since I haven't really hung out in WeHo since I turned 21 lol But I had tons of fun and it was really interesting as it was a huge drag show of epic proportions! The ones I usually go to locally are really small so it was fun seeing all of these big name drag queens including Chad Michaels, Raven, Manila Luzon, Willam, Pandora Boxx, Morgan McMichaels, and Yara Sofia.

My bff Alice and I got ready together, which is always fun! We made it out to WeHo with no traffic but had to wait for them to reopen Micky's because they were in the middle of the World of Wonder Wrap Party.

Once inside we watched the final episode commercial free, so we found out who won earlier than those who were watching it live! It was really intense, and once it was announced who won...

Chad Michaels came out in his crown! The other queens (along with James St James from WOW) condragulated him on his win. I'm a big fan of Chad Michaels, since I've met him twice at my local shows :D

It was really crowded inside Micky's so it was near impossible to get any decent photos! But here's a couple I got:
