My first time doing "custom eyelashes"

Yeah I'll be doing a lot of posts about fake eyelashes, but I hope no one cares :P

There's been a big boom within the gyaru fashion magazines about making "custom lashes", which is basically putting pieces and parts of different lashes to make their own custom look. It's a great way to use lashes if they're on the verge of being thrown away or just to get creative!

Cooking, The Lime Truck & Blackmarket Bakery + Marion Crepes @ Mitsuwa's Fall Gourmet Festival

My microwave at my house broke over 2 weeks ago, and the people who were supposed to fix it flaked on us and finally came on Friday (yesterday) and told us we needed a new one. Gee thanks for being obvious! So now it's going to take LONGER for them to come because of the weekend. T_T

I've been eating out too much so on Thursday I made myself probably the easiest thing without the use of a microwave, Spaghetti.
My favorite Spaghetti sauce, which I buy from Mitsuwa for about $2-3. It's the perfect portion for 2 people :)

Opinion: Why I'm not a fan of Gyaru models

This is kind of going to be a mix of personal experience and my opinions. I'm going to throw in some old pictures from 2006 because that's what I have offhand. Let's get started, shall we?

What you may not know about me is that when I used to go to Japan often, I was part of the big ParaPara community. I was even in a Gazen ParaPara!! video before, and that means I got to work with Rumiringo. Yes, the one you all know and love.

Past the 10 follower mark, woo!

I didn't really advertise the blog too much but I'm happy to say that I'm at over 10 followers :D I've been really busy with school this past week so I haven't had too much time to do stuff, but I've been planning some more posts in the near future! Here's what to look for:

  • Yes, you can be gyaru and wear cheap Western brands.
  • Daily makeup routine: Putting on my face in 10 minutes INCLUDING falsies
  • Fake Eyelashes comparison/reviews.
  • New purchases
  • More sales posts (mostly 109 brand stuff)
  • Giveaway once I hit at least 25 followers! I've already planned a few giveaways so expect them every next 25 or so followers~
Also to anyone who is in Southern California near a Mitsuwa Marketplace, their Autumn Food Festival that I talked about in a previous post is starting TODAY! I'm going with my boyfriend for lunch and will probably make a post about it later (depending if I'm going to an extra credit event for school or not). The Autumn Food Festival will be at the other Mitsuwa locations next week.

ageha Model's Selection: Top 3 upper and bottom lashes

I guess I would call myself a "fake eyelash otaku", and I was so giddy when this article was in November's issue of ageha. Since I know a lot of people don't have the new issue yet or can't read Japanese, I will put the contents in here and show you where you can buy them!

Universal Studios Halloween Horror Nights + Devil's Night Drive-In

Friday I went to Universal Studio's Halloween Horror Nights and on Saturday I had to cancel going to the Diamond Gals Gal-loween party because I had prior family commitments to go to the Devil's Night Drive-In with my boyfriend and his mom. I was really bummed about it especially because I wanted to do the raffle (I love Dolly Wink's stuff but would never pay for it since it costs so much!), but I'll just make it up to the girls another time.

Mitsuwa, some gets and Spirit day

I've had a tiring day and my cellphone has really sucked! After returning home from my first class I took a nap, only to wake up to see my phone frozen and only had about 5 minutes to leave my house to go back to school. It was my Biology lab and luckily he gave us the option to leave once he explained what the assignment was. I left early because I hadn't eaten and could barely concentrate, so I headed to Mitsuwa in Costa Mesa, CA for some food.

Plus Sized Gal: My Story + Buying Japanese clothes

It always pains me to see all the negativity about weight in the gal community. Myself and other bigger gals have been posted and ridiculed for being ourselves. :( But you know what? Fuck the haters! Or for those who don't understand, I'd like to take this time to start with my personal story and also showing that it's possible for bigger gals to wear Japanese clothes! Warning, this is a long one. Any questions or comments about this post, feel free to reply~

Knott's Scary Farm 10/15/10

I went to Knott's Scary Farm with some friends yesterday, and this is how I looked! I forgot to take an outfit pic though :( Makeup information:
Primer: Smashbox
Makeup setter: Urban Decay
Foundation, Concealer & Powder: Clinique
Eyeshadow, Mascara, Blush & Lipstick: Sephora
Eyeliner (liquid): Maybelline
Eyeliner (white pencil): NYX
Eyelashes: Diamond Lashes (Glamorous on top, Lovely on bottom)
The only okay picture I got of my hair. I just added a little volume on top and wore my hair straight.

Re-introduction

Hey! My name is Dominique, but you can call me D~tan :) I'm a 21 year old girl and I go to school at CUI (Concordia University Irvine). I'm interested in a lot of things, mainly dancing ParaPara/TechPara, gyaru fashion, traveling, finding interesting places to eat around OC and photographing concerts. I'm in a relationship with Tony, who is amazing and we love each other very much! We've been together since 11/04/08 (Election day! I voted for Obama~), so that means we've been together for about 2 years. I originally started this blog recording some stuff I cooked, but I got busy once I started school and almost have little to no time to cook now :'(
