What is an "American face"? - Ranzuki 8/11

I was flipping through my newest issue of Ranzuki and found this interesting article that included face shading for different sized heads. This article features Natsumi Saito and she shows how she tries to achieve an "American face". From shading her face to make it look small, shading her nose, doing her eye makeup/lenses and even massaging her face to make it appear smaller. Definitely a must read/see for people who are having a hard time with knowing how to contour their face!

New brand of eyelashes for gal, Eyelash Laboratory

If you have seen the last couple of month's issues of gal magazines, you'll see that a new brand of eyelashes called Eyelash Laboratory has been taking out 2 page ads to start promoting their line of eyelashes. Taking a team of gal magazine models (mostly from Popteen), they helped design and create these new eyelashes. You can see part of the process in this video that was uploaded to YouTube:



For a new brand, they already have a ton of options! All of these lashes come in 5 packs and are priced at 1050yen (tax-in). Currently they're only being sold on the Popteen store online and Don Quijote stores in Japan.

egg's Beauty '11 Spring: Petit Priced Cosmetics - プチプラ

Awhile ago I made another post relating to recession-friendly cosmetics for gals, and egg seems to continue on this trend with their newest Beauty catalog for Spring! Not only does it show you don't need brand name makeup to look this pretty, but that you don't have to spend too much on it as well! Romihi leads this article with rounding up all the other egg models and asking if they own any 100yen cosmetics, Maybelline or Canmake. After the article I'll post some other suggestions and other inexpensive Western brands that are picking up with gal models.

Vanquish Spring 2011 Catalog featuring Wei Son

Sorry for not posting in the last couple of days. I've been enjoying my easy days from school because I know that it's going to kick up like crazy soon as well :( I've been maticulously editing these photos the last few days (so much dust on my scanner T_T, fixed that AFTER I scanned these all) so I'd like you to enjoy these~ They feature PopSister model Wei Son modeling some coordinates featuring items from Vanquish's Spring line.

お姉さんになった！！！ - Oneesan ni natta!!! 4/11

Oneesan ni natta!!! has been in press since November 2010, but my local Japanese bookstore only started stocking it with this month's issue. It's notable because the main models include just graduated ageha model Sayaka Araki and former Jesus Diamante cover girl Keiko. It's produced by ageha, nuts and I love mama and focuses on gyaru style and life for those who are over 25.
